During the 2024/2025 crop year, the main production and exchange countries exported approximately 7.6 million tonnes of finished products in the three leading tomato categories: tomato paste (3.9 million tonnes), canned tomatoes (whole or pieced, peeled or unpeeled – 2 million tonnes) and tomato sauces & ketchup (1.7 million tonnes).

The 2024-2025 world trade in tomato products (May 2024-April 2025) showed a moderate increase in volume but a notable contraction in value compared to the preceding year which reached record levels.
Paste is the main tomato product, both in production volume and in commercial value.

In 2024/2025, global exports of tomato paste generated more than USD 4 billion of the USD 10 billion generated by the global trade of tomato products.
