WPTC crop update as of 25 October 2022

WPTC members met in Parma on Tuesday 25 October for their annual end-of-season meeting. During the meeting they established the preliminary world production estimate for 2022 and the first estimates for 2023 in Southern Hemisphere countries.
Preliminary results for 2022 now stands at 37,257 million tonnes: this is 6.1% lower than the initial production intentions in March 2022 (39.671 million tonnes) 4.9% lower than 2021 total production of 39.184 million tonnes.

The global world production estimate currently stands at 37,2 million tonnes but will be readjusted on 25 October when the preliminary production figures for all countries are available.
